Accommodation Needed

Our new family from PNG — Dange, Timone and Sarpay — are in need of some reasonably priced local accommodation. They have been staying at a women’s refuge, but need to move elsewhere in the next couple of weeks. Dange is still waiting on a work permit, but can apply for rent assistance. Talk to the pastors or Sue Craig if you have any information which might help.
Pathfinders: help needed for 2026

The following roles need to be filled so that Pathfinders can operate this year:
- Counsellors – one or two needed, at least one female. This vital role involves mentoring Pathfinders by co-running a Pathfinder class, coming on camps, assisting with honours, and other duties as required. Training provided, and personal growth and job satisfaction are assured!
- Honour instructors – do you have skills you could teach to a great bunch of kids? We’d love to have you teach a craft honour. These are run in 4-5 sessions of 1.52 hours each – calendar is available on the club website. Suggested honours for 2026 are: Baking, Digital Photography, Electronics, Macrame, Mosaics, Rocketry, Crochet, or we’re open to your suggestions!
Contact the pastoral team or Rachel Wegener ASAP if you are interested in filling these roles in the Pathfinder ministry as planning meetings are commencing next week. (A Working With Children Check is required.)
Picnic at Lake Parramatta

You are invited to join Brett and Debbie Donald next Sabbath (Jan 17) after church for a picnic at Lake Parramatta, weather permitting. After lunch you can enjoy a swim or a paddle in the lake, or a walk around its perimeter. The Donalds have some spare stand-up paddle boards you’re welcome to try. Parking is free but spaces are limited; if the carpark is full you can park in surrounding streets.
Next Week’s Offering: Christian Vision and Hearing Services
Christian Vision and Hearing Services, within Adventist Media, is a non-profit organisation that serves people who are blind, have low vision, cannot read standard print due to a physical condition, are deaf, hard of hearing or deafblind in the South Pacific Division. It provides vital services and support to these communities free of charge, made possible by this annual church offering, donations and bequests. On January 17, please give generously to ensure the important work of Christian Vision and Hearing Services can continue and expand in 2026. You can also make an online, tax-deductible donation at any time via eGiving.
