At the end of the vision, Daniel’s attention is drawn to the fourth beast. He knows about the four kingdoms and God setting up His kingdom, but he wants to know the truth about the fourth kingdom and the “little horn”. We now have history to look back on to see how this kingdom has ruled the world, is currently ruling the world, and will rule it again (Rev 13:1-10); but for Daniel, seeing it begin to make war against God’s people is very troubling indeed. Read the rest of Daniel 7, focusing on verses 23 and onward to see what God says about this “little horn”. It can be heavy reading, but be encouraged by remembering one thing: Jesus wins!
