Daniel stands before the King having been brought into the middle of the Banquet Hall, knowing that Israel’s prophesied deliverance is outside the city gates. He’s there to deliver a message of judgement but only because the rulers of Babylon have brought God’s judgement upon themselves in rejecting what God has done for them. Just like us, “We have nothing to fear for the future except we forget the way the Lord has led us, and His teaching, in our past history.”
